About the Procedure
Single-port laparoscopic surgery is a variation of conventional laparoscopic surgery but with limitations as to the surgical indication, since it cannot be applied in all cases. One of the limiting factors in applying this technique is, for example, the abdominal volume.
How is it performed?
In the single-port technique all the instruments are introduced into the abdominal cavity through a single portal, usually in the navel region. In this way other abdominal incisions are avoided, increasing postoperative comfort and improving the aesthetic result.
